How about using alphabet pasta to spell words/names?
I saw that idea in a craft book from the library and can't wait to try it.

Hi Leigh! Here is a picture of what we call graham crackers or graham wafers in North America:

I think any kind of a biscuit that was in a square shape would work. Please let me know what you come up with! I would be very interested to see what you do with this. :-)

That is a really neat activity I think a lot of children will enjoy! Well, I guess I should say many young boys will enjoy because I can't see too many girls being interested in worms :) Thanks for sharing and giving all of the detail you did. I definitely would not have thought about putting the worm farm in a dark place or putting dark paper around it.

I love your blog. I am an Early Childhood professional how just became a stay at home mom because I had my third baby girl. I taught in a private preschool program for 8 years and absolutely loved it. I am very big on fun and eductional activities to do with the young child. I currently do a personalized curriculum with my preschooler. I have a page on my blog titled parents of preschoolers where I will be posting a lot of different ideas. I would love to link your blog. My blog is pretty new so I am still gaining readership. God bless!

One favorite activity around here is to gather pine cones from the yard, bake them and then paint them. Last year we did it for Easter. Painted them pastel colors and Easter morning, I put them in a basket and put small candies between the "petals". This year, I am going to let them paint some for Christmas and use their imaginations to come up with "tree" decorations for them. I love your ideas. Tomorrow, when I have more time, I'm going to read through some of your older ones.
